Baptism
But if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. (Romans 6:8)

Baptism is a sacrament; a sign and a seal of the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Baptism is the mark of God’s eternal love for God’s children. The water is not magic. It gives the community an opportunity to re-enact Salvation history. From the Spirit brooding over water at creation (Genesis 1), to the salvation from the flood, (Genesis 9) to the liberation at the Red Sea (Exodus 14) God uses water to bless creation. Jesus was baptized in the Jordan river (Mark 1:9-11)) demonstrating his humanity. In our baptism we join in his death and resurrection (Romans 6:3-4) Baptism is the sign of belonging to the family of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Because Baptism is an act of the Holy Spirit, we baptize all ages, infant through the aged, realizing that none of us fully understands and we are all received by God’s grace alone.
Tucker Michael Gibb was baptized on February 25th 2007.
